Meet the Doctor Dr. Eddie Ramirez immigrated to the United States with his parents at just a year and a half old. At age nine, he discovered he was undocumented — a reality that could have limited his future, but instead strengthened his determination. From that moment on, he held onto one dream: tobecome a dentist. Despite significant legal and financial barriers, Eddie persevered. He completed his undergraduate studies at Portland State University in 2014 and went on to make history as the first undocumented/DACAmented individual from Oregon to be accepted, matriculate, graduate, and practice after earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry in 2018. He began his career serving at a Federally Qualified Health Center, where he spent five years caring for migrant and underserved communities. That experience shaped his commitment to advocacy, access to care, and giving a voice to patients who often feel unseen or unheard. Today, Dr. Ramirez continues that mission in private practice while remaining actively involved in organized dentistry through the Oregon Dental Association and the American Dental Association, where he serves as a national leader. He is also deeply passionate about mentorship, supporting students across the country and proving that obstacles do not define outcomes.
