Some of the Best Teething Aids Are Simple WashclothsTeething can be quite the harrowing experience for toddlers. They are often in pain and discomfort. Unfortunately, they have no idea of what's happening to them. For this reason, the children are often in a foul mood, cry a lot, and also refuse to eat a lot of the foods they are given. Teething often happens when a child reaches 3 – 12 months of age and the process can continue until they get to around 3 years old.

Symptoms of teething often include excessive drooling, inconsolable crying, decreased appetite, sensitive red gums, and sometimes a rash appears on the neck or mouth. However, all is not lost during this trying time. There are simple aids that a parent can use that are incredibly helpful to ease the child's suffering and keep them happy, at least for a while.

Washcloths Are One of the Best Teething Aids Out There

Washcloths are often quite soft. They are also very versatile. When a baby is teething, they need some relief from the pain. A washcloth can be a simple yet effective solution. Here you can wet the cloth, then place it in the freezer for a couple of minutes so that it can get cold. Afterwards, you can give the cloth to the toddler for them to chew on. The cold will numb the gums for some time, providing the child with some much-needed relief. If you want to spice it up a little, instead of water, you can use chamomile tea. Its soothing properties will work wonders for your child's gum.

Food Can Also Help if Used Properly

If you want something that's a bit more nutritious for the child but also provides relief from the teething pain, you can also place frozen food in a mesh feeder. This includes finely chopped apples, bananas and carrots. The baby can gnaw on these foods to give them not only relief from the pain but also give them a tasty treat to divert their minds from the pain and discomfort.
